Decided to get back into it, so I've updated all of my existing games for newer iOS versions. I've decided to stop doing Android development and focus on just iOS, macOS and tvOS.Currently working on a password manager which should be released soon.]]><![CDATA[Animal shelter fund raiser results]]>Sun, 03 Apr 2016 13:41:30 GMThttp://tuxedocatgames.com/blog/animal-shelter-fund-raiser-resultsWell, it wasn't what I'd call an overwhelming response, although I don't have much time or resources to devote to promoting my games. I was able to sell 28 copies of Play, Cat, Play during the past month. I originally planned on donating 50% of sales to the drive, but since sales were so low, I'm just going to donate $20 and call it a day.

Thanks to all who did purchase the game to help this great cause!

<![CDATA[Time to start on the next game]]>Sun, 28 Feb 2016 17:05:23 GMThttp://tuxedocatgames.com/blog/time-to-start-on-the-next-gameSo I've added a particle emitter and parallax scrolling to my game engine (sandbox tests below). I think I'm in good shape to start on my next game. This one is going to be substantially bigger and more professional than my previous games, so it could take a while to release. I'm planning on a side-scrolling, action/adventure game. More details to follow...

<![CDATA[New game in development]]>Sun, 13 Dec 2015 18:07:14 GMThttp://tuxedocatgames.com/blog/new-game-in-development1I just started working on a new game. This one FOR cats, instead of about them. I know there are already a few games for cats out there, but they all seem to either have advertisements (in a game for cats, really?), in app purchases (like you really want your cat accidentally making purchases on your mobile device) or even malware (ugh!).

This game will have four modes of play (all included), no additional purchases required and no advertisements. I'm also going to make sure your kitty won't be able to close the game and press random things on your device. This will be available for both iPad and Android tablets.]]>
<![CDATA[Follow Me-Ow! rewritten for iPhone and iPad]]>Sat, 24 Oct 2015 15:28:12 GMThttp://tuxedocatgames.com/blog/follow-me-ow-rewritten-for-iphone-and-ipadI've finished the rewrite of Follow Me-Ow! for iPhone and iPad. This version has a smaller file size, smoother gameplay and better resource usage. The time spent on this project was not expected, but well worth it. I just wasn't happy with the way the initial version looked, the memory usage or the app size. This was definitely a good learning experience.

I also took the time to rewrite a large portion of the game engine I created while making Galaxy Blaster for both Android and iPhone/iPad. This engine was used for the rewrite of Follow Me-Ow! and is becoming a very solid foundation for future games.]]>
<![CDATA[Follow Me-ow! rewritten!]]>Sat, 05 Sep 2015 16:33:55 GMThttp://tuxedocatgames.com/blog/follow-me-ow-rewrittenThe re-release of Follow Me-ow! has just been published. I had originally written the game to learn to work with the layout and UI of android and iOS apps, so it was written as an app, not a game. Although it was a good learning experience, I wasn't happy with the game as it was sluggish and used way too much system resources. I decided to rewrite the entire game using OpenGL. I spent some time rewriting the game engine I created while making Galaxy Blasters to make it more reusable and have more flexibility and functionality.

The game is now published for Android using this enhanced game engine and I must say, it looks and plays 100% better! Time to start on the iOS version!]]>
